A Phase Of Play is more game realistic utilising the full width of the pitch over three thirds the length.
Involves team units of players either attacking or defending against opponents, the team that is being
coached is normally overloaded with players (9v8) which gives you more of a chance to get your topic
out during the session. Ideal for developing group, unit and team tactical understanding.

This is the main session you will be marked on in your final assessment.

Examples of Phases Of Play:

  • In a Phase Of Play, Coach attacking play in central areas
  • In a Phase Of Play, Coach passing to feet
  • In a Phase Of Play, Coach defending, marking and covering
